Moving On
July 2022 - August 2022
Moving On is a game made by the 2022 Team Projects class in Lake Washington Institute of Technology, which took the game to PAX that summer.
The gameplay involved traversing an old house as a tiny character, finding ways to climb, jump, and bounce to new areas. The player uncovers old, torn mementos along their journey, eventually reassembling them back into a full picture at the end of the game.
My work on the project involved being the Programming Team Lead, working with three other programmers on the game. My responsibilities included…
Assigning tasks to team members, helping to resolve issues, and giving advice on possible implementations of features
Developing the entire fully-featured first-person, modular player controller, including climbing, mantling, and riding a rubber duck
Created an easy-to-use interaction system that was used by other team members to create the vent teleportation system, along with my own climbing system
Created a kill-zone system, where falling into a place you can’t recover from will teleport the player back to a safe location
